About Candidate

I have developed an extensive professional experience including substantial contributions in research, industrial collaborations, teaching and leadership. I have work in both a teaching intensive university at Wolverhampton-UK and research-intensive university at Cranfield-UK. I have also international teaching experiences in France and Mexico. I have been involved in running many academic awards in manufacturing and product development in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have been involved in all administration aspects of an award such as timetabling, teaching allocations, recruitment, accreditation to mention few. I have very good relationship with many companies who have been sponsoring students project . I am recognised as one of the international scholars in Lean Product development. I have introduced and implemented Lean Product Development and Set-based design and several digital technologies in many companies such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus, Visteon, Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Sitech, MOOG, Caltec, Paxton, GETRAG, Atlas Copco, Alaziziah Group and OTT-HydroMet. Through these projects, we have designed, prototyped and tested many mechanical products from these collaborating companies.

My teaching approach approached are based on “Problem-based approach” and “Research Driven Teaching”. In the Problem-based approach is to encourage students to used different problem-solving techniques to solve engineering problems. I have so many industrial based cases that I used within my classes. In Research Driven Teaching, I used the research outputs of my projects in classes to show the students how we managed to develop different processes and associated tools and methods to solve real industrial problems.

I know the skills that industry requires, and I will be able to give the students the learning experience and the practical knowledge they need to thrive. I have been supervising many PhD students with very good publications records. I have very good knowledge of the funding bodies from the research councils and the knowledge of the full process of writing the proposal and form the consortium budgeting and delivering the project.
