In response to the changing world and the new Industry 4.0 challenges, the Electrical Engineering Department, in collaboration with the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, Computer Science and Engineering Department at Qatar University acknowledge that this industrial revolution has created an essential need to offer a distinct multi- and inter-disciplinary undergraduate program in the field of smart systems, automation, and instrumentation. The current thrusts for offering multi-disciplinary programs coupled with the QU’s unique leadership role in the educational sector were behind the offering of a new and distinct multi-disciplinary undergraduate program in Mechatronics Engineering. This Mechatronics Engineering Program has officially started in Fall 2021.Why Qatar?Qatar, located on the east coast of the Arabian peninsula, has a per-capita GDP among the highest in the world. | Position Summary: The Department of Electrical Engineering at Qatar University invites applications for an Assistant / Associate / Full Professor position in Mechatronics Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to be actively involved in developing, coordinating, teaching, and evaluating courses in the BSc Mechatronics Engineering Programs, and to be actively engaged in innovative trans-disciplinary research. | Qualifications | | |
| Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Mechatronics Engineering or possibly other related fields, and must have distinguished achievements in Mechatronics engineering (preferably in area of Electric Vehicles, Vehicle Dynamics, and Electric Drives). The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and sustain active research programs in the field, coordinate courses and participate in advising and mentoring students. Industrial expertise in the areas of Mechatronics is a plus. Excellence in research and teaching is essential. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required. Excellence in teaching will be demonstrated by a strong teaching philosophy statement, robust teaching evaluations, and strong endorsements from referees. Experience with ABET accreditation requirements, and knowledge of innovative curriculum development and implementation is a plus | ||
