The American University of the Middle East (AUM) invites applications for full-time Assistant Professor and Associate Professor positions in Computer Engineering within the College of Engineering and Technology.

Assistant/Associate Professor Computer Engineering – Position Overview

The Department of Computer Engineering at AUM is recruiting faculty members who can contribute to teaching, research, student advising, professional development, and academic service.

The Department offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate programme in Computer Engineering.

Successful candidates are expected to maintain active research programmes, publish in refereed journals, deliver high-quality undergraduate teaching, mentor students, and participate in departmental and College activities.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold:

  • A PhD in Computer Engineering or a related field from an internationally accredited university.

Candidates should also demonstrate:

  • Excellent publication records, particularly during the last five years.

  • Undergraduate student-advising experience or capability.

Industry experience is considered an advantage.

Preferred Teaching and Research Areas

Successful candidates should demonstrate teaching experience and research interest in at least one of the following areas:

  • Artificial Intelligence and related subfields.

  • Computer Architecture and Design.
  • Systems Analysis and Design.
  • Other research areas related to Computer Engineering.

The position therefore accommodates candidates from several Computer Engineering specialisations rather than restricting recruitment to a single technical area.

Research Responsibilities

Successful candidates will contribute significantly to the Department’s research activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining active research activity.
